A very useful website

I want to talk about a website that did help me in so many ways this semester (and also previous semester) in many subjects that I have in university. I speak of Spectral Database for Organic Compounds (SDBS). This website is in english but is a japanese website from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. In internet is really hard to find material about spectroscopy or rather spectra of the various organic compounds. Even popular chemical websites like PubChem, ChemSpider, or similar don't have as many spectra as this site. Even SDBS has the analysis of its spectra, which makes it much easier to understand them. Its form to look for spectra is not only with the name of the molecule, but also with its chemical formula or other items. Analysis of the H-NMR spectrum of acetanilide. I visit this site very often (every week) due to the Organic Chemistry Laboratory and also for Organic itself. It's far th...

The Truth or Feeling Good?

Image
Ok Guys, this post is about a really good question. Who is better? The truth or Feeling Good. I know it can be something abstract. Sometimes tell the truth can be painful, and hiding the truth may be an option, especially when the truth can hurt. Not only hurt you, but also to others. And when those others are loved ones, well, is a really good option. Because nobody wants to suffer or see that a loved one suffers. So, as a protection, people hide truths. Even people lie. A pious lie. We convince ourselves that it is for the best. But, it's just to be self-satisfied. To feel good. What's wrong with that? There's nothing wrong with it because in fact the purpose of humanity is to achieve happiness. Feeling Good. But that people ignore, or want to forget, Is that happiness is not built based on lies or by hiding the truth. This sense of feel good will be ephemeral. In the other hand we have the truth...
